Thanks to the genius of Mark Russinovich, Microsoft now has an excellent bundle of add-on tools for systems management and troubleshooting. These used to be independently developed, but Microsoft realized the value of the tools and received rights to distribute Sysinternals utilities as official Microsoft tools. Mark now works directly for Microsoft.

You can find the tools along with documentation and news at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/sysinternals. Some of the utilities I recommend: Autoruns, Process Explorer, TCPView, Whois. There are many utilities available, check out the list and I’m sure you’ll find something useful for your environment. Enjoy! 🙂
