Scroll Lock Surprise

That strange “Scroll Lock” key on your keyboard … it can actually do something useful. Try it out in Microsoft Excel to make the arrow keys scroll the spreadsheet rows and columns. Try it out on a Linux console of scrolling text and it might freeze or un-freeze the blur of output. Just press the key again to return to normal operation. There’s usually a status/indicator light on the keyboard to let you know of the scroll lock is active. I would like to thank the authors of the following articles for these tips:
