Find Registered Owner of IP Address or IP Block

IT professionals may desire the ability to determine the registered owner of an IP block given one or more IP addresses of interest. Here are some registry sites you can use to review IP block registration. Note that only the specific registrar for a block will have detailed records on small block assignments – you will need to query the specific registrar directly if you get a generic response from your first query. Each Regional Internet Registry (RIR) is responsible for IP assignments in a separate part of the world.

GLOSSARY:

  • ARIN = American Registry for Internet Numbers
  • RIPE = Réseaux IP Européens (European IP Networks)
  • LACNIC = Latin America and Caribbean Network Information Centre
  • AFRINIC = African Network Information Centre
  • APNIC = Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre
